| The following questions and answers are provided to assist the construction business owner in determining whether the Dorval Management Business Review would be appropriate to assist them in improving their company’s performance.
1. As the owner of a construction company, I am just too busy to start your Business Review at this time. Should I do it when we are slower?
Realistically speaking the management techniques that overworked owners and managers are using today will not free up any additional time in the future. The DMA Business Review decentralizes the decision-making process which affords the business owner more time to actually run their business in a less stressful manner.
2. I already run a successful construction company, what can DMA do to help my operation?
Maybe nothing; if a construction business owner is satisfied with his or her business performance, then there may be no reason to contact DMA. The DMA Business Review is designed to improve a company’s current performance with improved internal process efficiency. If a business is already operating at a satisfactory level, meeting owner’s expectations, then there are only two basic options to take: 1) Accept current performance and continue operating without change. 2) Increase performance expectations and contact DMA in order to obtain the necessary support to reach the new level of performance.
3. I have hired consultants in the past and was not satisfied. How is your firm different?
At DMA we stand proudly on our record for honesty and integrity. We focus all of our work on customer satisfaction with real results. We take the time to review and evaluate the processes necessary to run a profitable construction company. “If it isn’t broke we don’t fix it.” We do not institute change just for the sake of change. Not only do we develop new processes and enhance existing ones, we actually teach management how to use all the new tools and implement all processes recommended.
4. How long does the DMA Business Review take to complete?
Typically, during the process, our personnel will spend two days a week at a client’s place of business. The Business Review usually takes between 20 and 30 days to complete depending on the scope of work performed. |
